Default Re: Conj and soloability

I've got a 70wiz and 70conj and defintiely find the conjuror easier and more fun to solo with. (Tho I've plaid a necro with tainted heals, and that's just wacky). With the conjuror, I can clear nest, but with the wizard it's a pain in the ass getting past the second guy (even the groups of 4 can nuke my ass off once in a while).

What conjurors get that wizards don't is a pet to take all the spell hits for you. Tho I clear most stuff with the mage pet, the tank pet is good for throwing at the named with avatar and vestment, so he gets some good aggro... then snare the named and pull the tank pet back before he dies. He takes all the nukes so you don't have to. This doesn't always work, so I keep some ward proccing gear on my conjuror (I also have the wis line heal for soloing... don't make fun of me!)

I would not advise trying to solo groups with the tank pet though, his aggro blows. Just throw the mage pet in defensive stance and kill them before they kill it.

The only class I can think of that solos more successfully than a Conj would be a Bruiser, and that's because they can train up and down zones to get to the mobs they want to kill.

With the right gear there is no reason a conjuror cant solo any non epic encounter assuming you dont get more than 1 or 2 add encounters with it.

Its not really a hard concept either, just basic snare, root, burn shit. If things get really bad you can always park the mobs and expiate the pet.

Hmm I find aggro is just fine, just use tank pet in offence stance, hit BA and EV just before fight and you can go crazy on the mobs (and I'm raid speced, so no sta line...). There is like 70% haste difference between offence and defence stance, so you miss a lot of procs, especially with EV. This also applies for single target mobs, enemies go down much faster. Also the int from offence stance should increase the proc damage.

Really problematic are only groups of 3 or more heroics, for example I never managed the Vampire groups in Mistmoore castle that block the entrance, but the lvl 75 ^^^ Vampire that drops the shield.
