I originally posted a calm, decent, non-flame explanation of why I left on the guild forums, but since they deleted it, I'm posting an explanation here. I'm not flaming the guild, I'm not flaming the leaders, but since they've been lying to the members about why I left, I'm not okay with going silently into the night. So please don't move it mods.

Don't lie about me, own up to what you said to me and why I left, because if what you said to me was true, you wouldn't have to lie about it now would you?

Everything was fine until Thursday shortly before raids. Apparently some people, people outside of the MT group, had been complaining about my "survivability." So Slips did some "research" and wanted to give me some suggestions. So I listened, and they were things I already did and/or had before and were useless for us. I explained why I disagreed with his research. Raid time came, convo had to end. Raid starts, finishes, fairly successfully.

After raids, I'm running around on an alt with my boyfriend, who I don't get to spend much time with when he's at work (he's at work for weeks at a time). Slips and Steev (two guild leaders, Blitz is one as well) are also in JW, doing quests to level up Steev because the character he had been playing was no longer available. Steev, the person, hadn't been in the guild or on raids, in weeks. I assumed Slips was boxing, but as it looked like to me when they ran by, Steev was on Auto Follow... could have been wrong but that's just what it looked like, I didn't really think about it. Slips plays Steev some. Anyway. They wanted to join up with my boyfriend and I, both my BF and I responded with "no" because we're spending alone time together. Fast forward a little while.

I get a tell from Steev (the character) saying...

"hey i just wanted to let you know that i've demoted you.. it wasn't just because of tonight but it was the last straw.. there's no excuse for the attitude you give the leadership and members alot of the time and personally your skill as a tank isn't good enough atm for me to care if you want to have a hissy fit and leave over a demotion."

Considering how out of the blue this was, and I had never been aware people were complaining about me in any serious fashion, I was quite boggled. I sat and thought about it awhile, and then sent a tell to Slips. He basically refused to actually comment on the tell I had received from Steev, and just questioned when I use ToS and tried to continue the conversation from earlier.

I don't mind discussing how I use my abilities, I never have, and have ALWAYS been open to input and talking to other tanks about it. Am I going to take suggestions from an illusionist (slips) as holy gospel? No, lol, of course not. That is the only "attitude" they have ever seen from me. I guess it was worth demoting me to member (from officer) over, and worth losing me over. Which tbh, is their own decision as guild leaders, it's their guild. I am only posting here because Slips has been lying to people about why I left, and when I posted to correct that on their forums, it was deleted. My post was not insulting, or incorrect. Are you really so afraid of people knowing what actually happened? Why? If I was such a bad tank and giving you so much "attitude," members would already know why I left. This kind of power trip is what makes guilds like Aftershock fall apart, I hope you wake up to that Slips, because I really do hope the guild doesn't fall prey to it.

(I'm sure someone will pop up and go OMG SLIPS IS GREAT I LOVE HIM /orgasm... it's not about Slips' play ability, or w/e, and it's not even like I think he's a total retard, I just want the truth out there and don't like it when people try to silence it)

I have logs of the other conversations, officer chat and the chat I had with slips after I got that tell from Steev, but they're pretty boring conversations and there isn't much worth posting on them.

And people have been sending me tells about your tells. It looks like you're the one asking what the guild response is. I don't want to turn this into a flame war, which is why I removed it from our forums in the first place, but keep going and I'm sure it will turn into that.

If anyone is uncertain as to why you were demoted, you can point them to me. I know for a fact that even Steev has been telling people that the group tiff that you mentioned was only the last straw.

When you were promoted it was without the consent of 2/3 the leadership, but you stayed for 3 reasons.
1. We had no reason to believe that the tells we'd been getting about your 'attitude' were true unless you showed us yourself.
2. As MT it can be very useful to be in Officer chat for discussions on tanking.
3. Your playtimes during the day were a big help to us since the three of us work/have families.

When deciding to demote you, you had:
1. Proven yourself to have an attitude when talking with people on vent and through type.
2. Refused to listen to suggestions even from those of us who have tanked before. I know Slips was passing you information from Truk, and I myself was trying to help.
3. Began to spend your day playing the Kitten Guard toons. While you were still reachable by those of us who knew to look for you there, you weren't to new apps.

I'm sorry Toe. I feel like you were a person I could get on quite well with irl. Steev may not have handled the demotion in the best fashion, but I stand by the final decision. Also, there was more going on about that group than you've typed up. I'll let him fill in the blanks there if he so wishes.

I wish you great luck in the game, I'm sorry it didn't work out. I would have continued to work with you, no problems, had you not quit.

Hey there its Steev..

First off I'll explain that situation where I sent you a tell.. So there me and Slips were, doing the repeatable JW quests down near the vaults/maidens area. It was only us there but we kept seeing mobs being rounded up and killed and we were getting pissed off because we needed the same ones. So we go up to you guys.. oh wait its only toewiggle on her alts, she must need the same ones. So we disband and ask for invite.. you said no, not your bf not anyone else, you. you go on killing. we say wait wait we need the updates.. you said so... not your bf, not anyone else, you... you procede then to kill off the rest of the 5 or 6 mobs you had on you when we started talking... you THEN say this is our alone time and walk away. Now I'll go back a little further.. Your arguement in wanting to be an officer has always been that you're always online to help the guild... well you are but always on alts... and in the last two weeks i've asked you tons of times to help.. personally i prefer the one where you JUST logged in, you say sorry I can't i'm going straight to bed.. then you're on for another 3 hours talking in 70-79 chat... ok you know what? I don't care, maybe you just didn't want to help then. But when we're right next to you killing the exact same mobs and we see you have free spots.. but you kill the mobs in front of our faces and walk away uncaring.. I know I wouldnt' do that to a guildmate and I don't think that person deserves to be an officer wearing our tag.(Among other reasons but I'll leave it at that for now)

Anyway I'll be honest as I always have, yes I said that exact message. Have I lied about it to the guild? Hell no.. I"ve quoted it word for word when they've asked what I said to you. What you're missing is that was by no means why you were demoted.. Hell I've wanted to demote you for so long now. But we all knew if you were to be demoted that you'd throw a hissy fit and leave.. all THAT was, was me finally deciding that I didn't care if we lost you, seeing as our monk and shadowknight have been tanking content better it wasn't much loss.

There are plenty of reasons why you should have been demoted earlier, or why we should have replaced you as MT long long ago... but you know what, we liked you as a person, and wanted to keep you around.. if worse came to worse, maybe see if you wanted to play another toon and STAY in guild... and if you'll care to notice, all we did was take away your officer chat, if we wanted to kick you you would have been gone already.. YOU chose to leave.
