I've tried weaopons with 22-220 range, 50-350 range as well as that blackscale maul thing with crazy range and 8sec delay. It's called Twisted Mahogany Staff. 65wis/int 200 health/power +10 disruption, +50 spell dmg, and delay of 7.5secs. I stuck a +20 attack speed adornment on it. To give you a idea my str solo buff is 270 and I can almost crit 1k with it. Raid buff I crit 2k+ all the time from having raid buffs but that is also taking into account I'm the MT defiler for my guild and have their buffs to help.

The staff from Woushi is nice sure but it's delay is a lot less than this one and it's dmg spread only goes up to 300ish while this one goes up to 600ish (with my solo buffed str). If your using the one from Woushi it just means you swing more often, giving you less time to cast debuffs/wards/nukes or you cast your debuffs/wards/nukes like normal and miss out on the extra swings you could be getting.

The great spear from Wuoshi, not a staff. I think it has a 3 or 4 second delay, and a huge damage rating. Our Mystic uses it, and gets 2.5k dps on EH trash.

Ya it's a spear. it's dmg rating is the same as the staff I have at 111.2. But it's dmg spread is less than the one I use and it's delay is less. So you could probably do more dmg with it if you cast less which isn't feasible for most the defilers on this forum because we're in the MT group. I went with my staff because of the huge hits+huge delay allows me to continue casting heals/debuffs/nukes without messing up the swing rate of it.

Str/wis is not that bad for dps at all you can do pretty good with it.

str 275 int 530 it is hard to find a good balance and I just recently started to dps more :/

nobodys mentioning that overall raid dps is gonna have a huge factor in this a guild like disso you can just pop defile off the bat and its gonna be a nice parse

I don't know about you but defile is only up once every 3-4 fights at best and quick fights with out defile DESTROY defiler DPS since dots/procs ect cant build up. Quick fights aren't good for my DPS id say roughly I need 25-30 seconds to hit a good DPS range and keep it stable from there.
