Granted I might be a shit defiler (hope not) but with this Epic weapon I wonder if the devs think that we are in some way OP as healers or so close to it that if they (the devs) are not careful with what they give to us, we will be at the point where youd hardly need another healer (cept on the real hard chit).

I mean Deathward is nice as an extra ward but hardly class defining and I think the mythical is a bit of a joke, giving us a clicky pandemonium when we dont even use the one we have (i know pand has stifle) someone is having a laugh at us surely??

5% absorb of magic damage I mean for fuck sake I would have rather have Ben Alac II than that seriously!!! I was expecting V - X.

I will get the mythic in the hope that they will see reason and improve it.

I don't know, I kind of like the mythical we get.. Pandemonium would be nice without the stifle actually and I think the effect is great on the weapon of having an encounter (non-blue) aoe dot with a hot attached to it that you can have up about 50% of the time.... I also am fond of having a heal attached to my wards....

is it as good as other classes? probably not. Were we overpowered? Pre-RoK yes... and SOE's track record says that they use expansions to even out classes a little (so they gave templars and druids alot in this expansion... and poor mystics who get the shaft).

overpowered? nah, i woudnt say so, i think defilers are one of the classes that are pretty much where they should be (ignoring the fact that all players are vastly overpowered in general, but thats another topic).

Defilers may have been somewhat OP in the past, but IMO we're about average now compared to a Mystic.

Shamans in general are "overpowered." The fact that you can kill Silverwing with a Mystic instead of a Defiler just as easy if you had a Defiler instead of that Mystic makes the fact that you are both very balanced, just 1 is much better at being DPS support, while the other is slightly better at buffing HP.

Honestly, Shamans within themselves are fine.

Shaman are pretty balanced at least vs each other, besides that wards are king since mobs hit for so much. Its the way the game works that make shaman seem so overpowered in actually we really aren't.

No, there isn't any great benefit to having a defiler in the MT group over a mystic anymore except the small amount of additional HP the defiler can buff. IMO, the differences between the classes are nominal now.


For the first time ever, I've even considered going mystic, since that is a more soloable class, and better in PVP.

Man, I guess I've just been grouping with a bunch of bad mystics then =/ With only a few exceptions, my alt defiler has blown away nearly every mystic I've grouped or raided with.

Honestly, I'd use Pandemonium a ton if not for the stupid stifle. That's the only failing point of the spell as I see it. The clickie isn't bad, though I still don't really like the proc on the weapon.

I also think the little heal tacked on to our wards is kind of awesome, but then again that could just be me.

As far as deathward, I use it a lot but I'll admit it's weak compared to some of the other level 80 spells out there. As just another tool in our arsenal, I use it enough now that I'd probably miss having it if it was changed too much from it's current form (being able to cast it on ourselves and a bit larger of a base ward would be nice).
