Are you happy with your Epic?
This poll is simply to gather numbers and see what the community, as a whole, thinks of their epics (both versions).
I don't want this to de-rail into a "which class has the best epic" or "what things need to be changed about our epic" sort of discussion/argument. I think that if we can just get some pure numbers together, it will be quite clear whether or not the developers behind each of these weapons have missed the mark.
I've made it multiple choice so that both versions can be considered.
Please vote only once for EACH version.

Re: Are you happy with your Epic?
Unlike some others, I think a great deal of thought went into the creation of these weapons, that thought taking many things into account, and not just what we, as a community, wanted to see. Balance in the game is essential and I think they did a very good job working toward evening the balance between the shaman sub-classes as well as within the healing classes altogether.
That doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer it to be another way, such as making me more uber/godlike/insane/wonderful/absolutely-needed and various other selfish, self-centered crap. It just means that I can see where their minds were when they chose to make the weapon as it is, and think the whiners who are demanding that it be changed are just that... whiners who wouldn't be satisfied with anything, ever.
Yes, there are two very excellent t7 weapons out there that equal or better this exceptional weapon... BUT... the vast majority of defilers playing EQ2 will NEVER see those weapons. Many of them, however, will have the chance to acquire their epic, and this epic will serve them very well.

Defilers sure are UBER compared to Mystics. I mean, Mystics can't be the MT Shaman at all and still manage to kill anything in game, not at all!

Re: Are you happy with your Epic?
Isin,
None of the fabled epics are powerful enough to alter class balance. So everything you said is moot.
Just like most defilers will never have a staff of growth and pureblood; most defilers will never get the mythical version of the epic. Mythical epic being the one that would actually affect balance on some degree.
That said, I doubt SoE tried to use these weapons to balance various classes to one another. Any moron with a calculator could figure out that it wouldn't work because so few would actually get the version that matters.
The epics were definitley meant to boost a class' power. Maybe in an area that it is usually weak, maybe not.
Whatever it was, the boost we recieve from our epic is so finite it really doesn't matter if we have it or not.
A defiler that can't get pureblood won't be getting the mythical epic. In which case they have 2 real weapons to choose from.
anaphylaxis and the fabled epic. Both of which are on par with each other.

Which can be said for healer gear in general - unfortunately.
Epic was a big chance to get sth. really interesting and powerful.

I would say thats true for everything but overloaded heals.
The difference between a group heal with and without them is pretty large.

Well, I totally screwed up this sentence so it didn't say what I intended, but THIS is what I'd meant to say.
The vast majority of defilers playing EQ2 will never see their Mythical Epic. Many of them, however, will have the chance to acquire their Fabled Epic, and this epic will serve them very well.
And, I do agree... they should be able to do Contested Mistmoore, though the drop is not certain and getting your guild to do him rather than something THEY want to do just so you'd have a chance to get your weapon, is not always easy. So, yeah... ditz attack and correction.

Re: Are you happy with your Epic?
not happy with both simply not good enough to be my weapon of choice which being mythical is amazing tbh. Situational use at best.
