I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, all 3 of these class are BORING AS HELL to play in a group because they all do rat shit for DPS and are godly in buffs and heals/wards. If you want some fun and some challenge, roll a Fury. Out of those 3 I would go with a Defiler base on the fact that those other 2 class are pretty homosexual.

Well, Mystics and Templars have pretty damn good mythical and fabled epics...while defilers basically got a terribly shitty one.

Pros and cons of a defiler?
IMHO
Pros: Wards - As long as you have your wards up at all times there is no reason for you to ever use your heals.
Debuffs - Top notch, you can basically debuff a mob so much that when hit, you and the other group members will not feel a thing, which will also decrease the damage being prevented by your wards allowing you to cast more debuffs/damage spells.

Cons: Casting times for wards and heals are a bit slow.
Not too many damage spells so killing mobs will take a bit longer than normal.

Those are the biggest things i see with Defilers.. I didnt go into the aa's because as said before they also have there pro's and con's depending on what it is you want to do ie: raid/solo/grp

I also cannot speak for any other healer class for I have not played them. Well Ive attempted to play a Cleric but couldnt get past lv 30 ish because for me,and I may be shot for this, I felt that the shaman class was a bit better in keeping a grp up. I like the concept of wards on how they create a shell that has to be broken down over and over to get to the creamy center

Again this is my my honest opinion in response too the question that was asked.

If I wanted excitement on par with watching paint dry, I'd play a different healer class. The low dps, long cast/recast times, and lousy heal spells are exactly the challenges needed to hold my interest. Personally, I was disappointed to learn that the cures were going to be consolidated; hopefully they don't dumb up the game much more for us (note crafting). Perhaps I will master this class someday and move onto something else, but for now I am happy...and proud...playing a defiler.

Not to be a nay-sayer, but I believe our (Shaman) `direct target heals are amongst the largest, next to templar.

Razieh does bring up a valid point, as usual; A templar does indeed bring more to the table. In a recent zone wide heal parse for SoH, I healed around 1.3million and the MT temp healed ~700k. However, in the MT's avoidance report, the temp's Shield Ally protected him from somewhere around 700k dmg. So when all is said and done, the temp prevented almost 100k dmg from ocurring more than me, and I always have Coercive Healing and typically the only one in group given Gravitas from the Dirge.

Should Soulward have remained unnerfed, we'd have a slightly stronger footing in who has better/more prominent abilities, but along with those AA's listed, and the ability to pick and choose from 3 classes of gear, temps will continue to wtfpwn in the "Most powerful" category.

With that said, we still rock!

He means you used to be able to cast soulward out of combat.
