Yes, I do know what it does. Also, Malis was Poison based last I checked (which doesn't matter since Imp debuffs both, but figured you might want to know since your post says ALL our damage spells are disease) The debuff from imprecate is not enough to justify casting it over either Malis and Fulgi sphere as either of those spells do double its damage, if not more. Malis also takes a lot less time to cast. Imprecate also caps out on damage pretty early on given you have decent +spell dmg gear on, which you would if you wanted to DPS.
Anyhow, if you've found that it's working for you, more power to ya. Under my testing, I've done significantly better on DPS if i don't touch imprecate unless my DOTs are on cool down. Same goes for Aphotic, unless everything else is on cooldown, the low damage and debuff don't usually justify the casting time unless it's a multi-mob encounter. But hey, my testing is for my gear, my spells and my spec. If yours works for ya, enjoy. We don't really go all out DPS often enough to warrant this much discussion imo.
Although you thinking Imprecate is our best DPS spell is really surprising to me. I'd love to see a couple of your parses broken down by spell. Anything from a 45sec+ fight where you do 2k+ DPS. Maybe I've been missing the point all along and will learn something. It's been a while since I did a detailed breakdown of my DPS - I was away from the game for a few months - so if Imprecate is the new hawtness, I'll start bumping it up in my DPS-mode casting order right away.

I was editing my when you posted. WTF posts at this time of night?! Anyhow, if you can post a parse or two, would be great. Numbers > random flaming.

Re: Do you use spell sequences?
Not even midnight for me!
I'll check my logs right now if you're on for a bit. Back in a bit!
No screenies of this fight I'm trying to find, but I explicitly recall my highest being a 2k in Executioner's, back in the day. Combing through logs right now, so I'm not tootin my own whistle.

Ok now that I'm home (i was out of town on my prev posts), I've pulled up a couple of logs from my last raid, which was a pickup run in SoH, imprecate isn't anywhere near the top, this was before we had our discussion, so I obviously didn't adjust anything:

Re: Do you use spell sequences?
Cool, you shut me up!
And I see you are using the dog in your DPS spec.
One question though: Are you letting Malis and Fulginous tick out? Or are you recasting with cooldown's?

I'm recasting. The initial hit is worth 3 ticks if not more. I'm still using Imprecate of course, it's just not the first priority spell.
Also, just fyi, this is not a full DPS spec, this is a hybrid heal/dps spec, so i can still heal very well, and switch to DPS with a change of gear.

Interesting, on ST mobs I generally do:
abasement > umb trap > bane of warding > hideous seal > abomination > malis
For groups I move umb trap to the front. My only reasoning is which debuffs I would least like to get hit by on my main (an assassin). Is there any way to figure out how valuable each debuff really is, or is it all just getting a feel for it from playing enough? Also, is malis in there to make other debuffs easier to land, or is it mostly for dps?
And what is nightmares? Did I miss a spell somewhere?

Nightmares is the clicky on our mythical.
Malis is quick enough of a cast that when it gets resisted its not a big deal vs something like Bane and umbral and malis also "opens" the mob up so that the rest of our debuffs can land more easily
By all means do what works, if your getting abasement to land on the first cast then more power to you man.
