Default Do you use spell sequences?

In a raid or instance situation, do you guys have specific spell combos? Someone told me that their raid times their spells but I was always under the impression that when a ward is going down (keeping an eye on the amount of ward left using a UI that shows you), you replace the ward with another and try to keep all your wards up whenever you see that it's time to cast one..given it is not still on recast timer. And when all your wards are down (recast timer), or when they are holding up safely and you don't need to recast them, that you should debuff and/or heal when necessary.
Also, if the group or someone is in the red zone and are not going down too fast, or whenever I deem necessary, I will usually heal before I ward to give me a buffer. Is this wrong to do?

What do you guys do? Do you have any suggestions to help me improve at the Defiler class?

Also, do you use deathward as a regular ward (using it whenever it's up) or do you save it when it's an emergency or when it's needed (such as when all your other wards are down and the tank is losing health rapidly)? Because it seems to me if you use it whenever it's up, when you really need it it won't be up.

Thanks!

Deathward sucks so much that if you wait until it is absolutely needed your tank will probably die anyway. Just use it liberally, that's your best bet. Soulward is a much better option for those true "oh shit!" moments.

Yup, toss it into your regular rotations. Hell I use it on pull sometimes, depending on what's incoming. If you're getting JCap regularly, it'll pop up relatively quickly.

Other than that, as far as spell timing for heals? Like autoattacks for a ranger....? Nah, your healing ability stands on your ability to react to situations and use your best judgment on what to do next. Keeping wards up is key of course, but as far as heals for buffers, etc, I guess the best advice I can give you is just try different stuff. Good luck

I have a spell rotation in the sense that if I'm free to debuff, I invariably cast my debuffs in a particular order, but other than that, most emphatically not. One of the reasons I love playing a healer is that it's intuitive....you cannot predict what you're going to need to cast next, you watch what's happening and react accordingly.

I have a set sequence for DPSing and a priority sequence for debuffing, but heals, wards and debuffs are far too dependant on the encounter, group, situation, etc. to have any kind of set sequence

This is what I do on named that could possibly wipe our raid, it also helps alot that my dog usually pulls these encounters so I am able to know exactly when said mob is inc.

1. Carrion > Ancient > Deathward up on mt > Accretion
2. Send dog
3. Carrion lands as my previous one gets knocked off by dog > Ancient
4. emergencies up "I am now within 5-10 m of the mt"
5. Auto Attack > Malis > abasement > Bane of Warding > Hideous Seal > Abomination > Umb trap > Nightmares
6. Carrion > Ancient "depending on if my previous group ward is up" if it is not up I use Ancient first then Carrion > Deathward

While my debuffs are up and my wards are on cooldown
1. Imprecate > Malis > Imprecate > nightmares > Imprecate > Fulg whip

*The key is obviously keep the mt fully warded at all times but also to use Accretion when it is up for all those lovely proc's

** I dont use Fulg Whip much as its a long ass cast time vs how long the debuff lasts

*** Malis fucking owns so much face its retarded, keep this up all the time and shit will drop extra special-like

**** use Deathward as soon as it refreshes, no thinking required just do it

***** Use Shrine right after AoE hits or when its up "use your own discretion"

I'm pretty sure you're joking, but just so it doesn't confuse any young defilers out there, Imprecate is one of the worst spells we have to cast for maxing DPS. If anything, cast it last when other spells are down.

QFT. Especially if you're wearing \aITEM -559966266 2051900139:Rune Etched Helm\/a then all the more reason so as to proc this onto group, if you're going to be having to eat AE's.

The hell are you talking about? The worst? The best! Have you even read what Imprecate does? Do you know that it has a Disease mitigation debuff component? Do you know that ALL of our spells are disease based? I hope you're the one joking.
