lol well said. However, despite being a total prick, the kid is right;
If you have Illys/Zerkers in raid who are not atleast 4-5k on trash, then you're going to find it very difficult to get your own parses higher.

Much of the reason all these cool defilers in their snazzy raid guilds are getting 3k+ is that their own extdps is being inflated by the sheer amount of dps the overall raid is doing. I do 2k+ in a raid that does somewhere near 120k+ on most trash. In most situations outside of our raids, I won't hit that high. But it's cool to try, don't bother asking advice for this kind of thing though, you'll attract tools like Euron, just experiment and try different gear combos.

Your parse will vary based on how long you take between pulls, because of your ability recast timers, as well as how much effort is put forth by your fellow raiders. So to counter those, gauge your effort and progress by choosing a percentage of the raid's DPS as a goal (like 2%, 4%, 6%, etc.) and go from there. Regardless of your group responsibility on trash you should DPS, on some names you should DPS, on other names you shouldn't. Simply track your progress on the targets you should be DPSing.

What I cant understand is why bother with it, I mean hell be happy to do your job, dps when you can Heal and debuff the rest of the time. I mean if you want to dps reroll. I understand the need to want to and I run 2 sets of gear for dps and healz but when raiding healz only top of the heal parse dont even look @ dps for my name on it.

Even with trash, if you stick to your basics then the over all benefits will out weigh the need for higher dps from you.

That makes sense Ambi. I've never cared to show up on DPS parse before (or I wouldn't have exiled to Defiler), but I'm trying to send a message to those who are still doing the 1-2k DPS because now that we're in VP we have to shape people up. Basically if I hit highish DPS then they can't use the gear excuse anymore..their spell orders and various things are wrong because their gear is always going to be better than my DPS gear.

Our guild is only 3 months old, and we've gone from PR 25k raid DPS to 70k since then so we're improving.

Gratz on being in VP now. But, the game is on TSO. That means heal stances for bigger wards to off-set raid mobs that crit. 3K dps was nice while it lasted, and maybe something to shoot for again - eventually - but until the raid is tweaked with crit mit gear - our job is to keep the tank up...

My group's templar has no trouble keeping tank up on trash in places like Palace and TMC even though our tank only has a couple of crit mit pieces. Just sayin.

Don't let Ambi mislead you, btw. He's a shitty healer, so we hope he at least can bring in some dps. ;)
