that may be the ideal solution, but it's a bit of a pain to keep switching back and forward several times a raid depending on what you're killing.

so having those healers that are ABLE to up their DPS by 2k on the mobs when you'd rather have more DPS classes in the raid is a decent compromise.

And if you need the same amount of healers to kill an SoH trash mob as you do to kill a TSO named, well, that's the way you roll - your business.

/Agree. BUT - that shouldn't be the defiler. The defiler should be 70%+ inc heals on tank and 50%+ of the ZW. Let the other healers focus on the dps.

You're missing my point. I play a defiler because I love the class and I love to heal and really only heal. Do I DPS in TMC? No. Do I DPS in VP? No. Should I make a DPS class so that I can justify DPSing on easy easy trash? Duuh, no.
When it comes to SOH trash, where my tank requires max 5k healing per fight, are you saying I'm supposed to stand there mindlessly and cycle my wards every time they expire after 30-some seconds just in case any damage leaks through..cause God forbid I can't let any of those healers encroach on my 50% zonewide mark on mobs that don't even matter!
No. Even though I much prefer healing, THERE'S NOTHING TO HEAL on SOH trash. I preward, lay a Spiritual Shrine, and that's about all my tank needs before the mob is dead. So I figure, since they need me on the raid when we get to the named..why not DPS if the buttons are sitting there?

And yes, I always debuff before you get all over that.

Maybe I'm just a shitfiler like Dranik, cause I don't know how you're putting up 50+% of the ZW. The only thing I can imagine is that the other healers in your raid aren't doing shit save for dps, which would explain all this bitterness regarding it.

I would definitely love to be able to do more DPS. It's my belief still that DPS is the king in this game. The faster the mobs die the less chance there is for something to go wrong. All classes should be throwing something in there. I hope after the healer revamp we can all still bring something unique to the raid/group, while at the same time providing some DPS or other meaningful input and dimension.

Actually, I'd like to know this too, so if you're at over 50% zw -let's say 55% for sake of example - how many other healers do you have in the raid and what % do they pull? Because the way I figure, if you're 55, the MT templar is about 30, and you have a least 1 healer per group for other groups, that's like 5% of the zw for those other 3 healers... I'm pretty sure I can get 5% of ZW by being afk 100% of the raid, so do they even do anything?
