Ok, so we had a mystic in our guild that made me drule with over 3k dps on parse while making heal parse. Is it possible for us to match this? I am an MT defiler with gimp aa's(146) but I'm working on them. With our attacks being magic based is there enough gear out there that would be good enough that I should try to go spell crit/dmg mods or would going with melee crit/ DA be more worth it? Right now I am just using some +SD and spell crit gear, but I don't have a whole lot of it.

It would be nice on trash to be able to speed things up by contributing a couple thousand to the dps to the raid. I max out at about 1700dps in some zones. Reading some of the scout threads I did increse my dmg by a couple hundred just by timing my auto attacks, but I want to do much more.

we got a fury that can do 8-10k on trash and solo heal a group.... IMHO if you want to do good dps change toons. We keep tanks up good thats what we do. you can change aa's do a little less healing (maybe let your tank die) and do 3-5k ish in the long run prob wont make your guilds ZW much shorter. you want to cut time off your ZW be the fastest rezer (so dirges or w/e can dps) spot heal your mystics/furys group so he dont have to heal as much that will make more of a difference then a MT healer dpsing im not saying do 0dps but YOUR A HEALER IMHO..... inc 5 people telling me im wrong

Perhaps you didn't understand what I meant...I said on TRASH..I want to achieve higher dps with gear not aa spec myself for it(although when I hit 200aa I prolly will get a mirror and have a spec for both for instance runs or soloing). I dont want to get into what class is better for what..I want to know what is achievable with our class. I dont need to worry about trying to keep the tank up on trash in zones like SoH, Korsha and so forth, my base ward amounts can almost do that w/o gear..so why not max my dps when I can by swapping gear between trash and named?

You said it yourself, our DPS (for the most part) is cast-based. What happens when you're casting nukes? You're not casting heals. Yes, I can hit 3k dps on trash, IF i don't heal. I mean, i still put out maybe 300-500 hps, but it's passive stuff from dog procs, shroud, nightmares, maelstrom, etc.

I have two sets of gear and macros to switch them with one button. The nuke gear set is mainly based around +spell damage gear since I've found it has the most benefit to our dps (until you cap it anyhow). So if you find you don't need to be healing (much) on the trash, throw on the DPS gear, get into the DPS stances and off ya go. 3k is just the beginning, i'm sure with proper buffage we can do over 4k, especially on multi-mob encounters. I did 4.3k on treah when we ran EH for AA recently. I was also easily breaking 3k every pull in a recent caverns group (multi-mob encounters) - these were both BEFORE i had dps stance and without a dps-centric spec.

i agree with fleip, if you want to help the guild more on trash tell your mt to dual weild and put on a jewel of animosity and just heal more. his dps increase > yours at 146 AAs

My MT already dual wields in offensive stance on SOH trash, so I'm also wanting to try out a little dps. I've been wearing healing gear in healing stance there but hardly any healing is needed, so I figured I should try DPS stance with some DPS gear next time I go and need some tips on spell order.
Some people in my guild (illies and dirges and zerkers and such) still do only 1500-2000 DPS..how on earth do I reach 3000? I don't really have any DPS gear, but I have enough AAs for full DPS spec and have master 1 fulginous whip, malis, and absolute corruption.
Which spell order/casting cycle do you think is most effective? How often do you shove Imprecate into your cycle? What type of gear would I need to start reaching 3000 dps (how much +damage and +spell crit do you have when you reach it?)
