My highest in recent memory was 3.5k soloing healing one of the nameds in outer stronghold.

Typicall on a raid encounter (IE Tythus, Xebnok, etc) I am around 1800-2300 HPS.

1.5-2k is normal for a tough named encounter in raid with 2 healers in mt grp.

hps really mean little if you wipe so just consider u did your job if u win.

imho cures and debuffs are just as important as your wards so make sure you work those into your rotation.

I think the order of importance for a defiler at least a raiding defiler would be cures>wards>debuffs, with a few exceptions on debuffing,i hate healers that just spam ward and do nothing else

Killing the mob is the measure of success and both dps and hps are subjective. That said - and I only know this because I was called out for low heat resists on a recent Trak pull necessitating a review of ACT, I ended up with 3763 hps for 8:33 encounter. I think that was merged with a single wipe tbh...

Assumptions can be made on who should be doing what, but at the end of the day, you should be concerned with doing what is necessary to keep the MT up based on the make up of your MT group and the raid in general.

I have hit 3k solo running instances, but on raids I think I have only gotten up to around 2k I am sure more on tougher encounters where there were hiccups, but as some of the others said, no matter how much you may spam heals and wards if there is nothing to heal they you are just not going to hit the higher numbers. And Ideally, if things are going like they should and buffs, debuffs, gear is right you shouldn't have to be hitting 3k on raids.
But we all know how easy it is to get 24 people to do everything right at the same time. So unless you want to do a bunch of cross healing and warding to pad your parse just keep your group alive with heals and cures and the MT up. Cross heal if needed and in the end if you all live and the mob dies then you know you did a good job.

My original question had more to do with solo healing instances. I was just trying to determine a kind of range for when a group is having trouble. That way I can see if it's me who isn't doing enough or if the group is just taking way more dmg than I can keep up with. I know every situation is different, but getting all the info from you all has shown me what the class can do, so I what the class is capable of.

if you're doing 2k HPS, you shouldn't be blamed for lack of healing. (not curing and other things are a separate issue) The more damage the group is taking, the more opportunity there is for your heal parse to be high.

I guess 2k seemed a bit on the high side because I haven't checked the parse on TSO mobs yet. Seemed to me 1-1.5k was good in RoK. We've been focusing on finishing out Mythicals for everybody since Christmas, but I'll take a look once we get back into TMC and into Palace.

the (most recent) question was about group instances. parses are generally higher in them, especially if group is dying (taking dmg).
