I have been playing without seeing the actual logged text for so long, but the reason ACT doesn't parse criticals on wards is due to the way the ward is logged. Effects that heal (including the heal trigger on our single target ward expiring and possibly mythical passive ward heal) will say in the log file something about the target being critically healed for XXXX. When you hit someone with a ward, there is no special text in the log to denote that ward as critically hitting the target. All it says is your ward hits target, but not for how much until the ward absorbs a hit. Even then, there is no "critical absorption" in the logs--our wards just absorb without caring if they originally critted or not.
Nonetheless, wards can and will critical but unless the Sony dev team changes how wards are displayed in the log file no parser will reliably pick up critical wards.
