Default Mortal Coil

Is it worth paying DKP to loot the quest item for Mortal Coil?
What's recast on Mortal Coil and does it really help keep a tank alive?
Is it worth wearing in place of other items of the same slot?

There is no recast - the buff is permanent. Personally, I didn't care for it because of the interrupts.

Not useful due to the interrupts to put on the MT. In combination with dispersion it was nice at times to get power recovery. But due to the proc rate nerf for those items for non mages not all that great anymore.

There is a way around interrupts or limit them to minuscule, Templar puts Mortal Coil on MT/OT taking 5% of 100% damage...now what would be 5% of 5% damage? Think hard...I know you can do it..

You are correct. If the templar is using Mortal Coil, I don't notice the interrupts at all...

As a defiler i use the mortal coil (which i payed dkp for) for soloing purposes. Here's how.... I put the buff on my pet, damage shield us both constantly (if single ward is on you and your pet, and you can keep the group ward up, the damage shield from whichever set of armor you are using will proc 4 times per hit.

Those four damage shield procs generally = 3k damage total for each hit that the mob does. (750pts x4)

Sometimes it's just better to have the groupward damage shield you once and keep single up on the dog for 2, that way you have less chances of pulling aggro from your pet and losing 1 of the 3 damage shield triggers per hit.

Hope that makes sence, i'm new here just wanted to add my 2cents.
