If you want a diety go ahead and get it then exile to whichever side you want to be. If you are new and don't have masters yet it shouldn't be a big deal. You can keep a good diety once you have it then betray evil. I used to play a tunare inquisitor.

actually /petitioned and asked, only way i could get straight answers - if you betray to another faction you will lose favor with your deity, i.e. it's not possible to get rodcet as evil!
according to the gm that replied tho anashti was useful for a healer as she was the prime healer to begin with. but to me all the miracles etc looks like dps /shrug

Yea i missed out on getting rodcet before i betrayed by the time i had asked i was already exiled and i never used deity's enough to go back to qeynos get rodcet and betray.

Is it even possible for evil to align with brell?

It would be hard for me to consider "as an iksar" to have a dwarf god or karana as my diety... hmm

can someone clear up just how important the diety selection is?

Brell is Neutral so he don't care if your evil or good.
