Does this mean when defilers try to feedback to get some changes for our class... we're not going to hear the "defilers are OP" shit again?

Both classes can do the MT thing pretty well. I was a Mystic from the day of release until the point we started smacking our heads against Druusk over and over. (Ability to strip stun/fear while stunned/feared FTW.)

I horribly miss Torpor. I don't really miss Bolster that much (Which can be cast on people outside group btw), and I far prefer the heal components to my wards that my Mythical gives. When I looked at the Mystic Mythical (Which I have too lol) and the Defiler Mythical, it was pretty clear that the Defiler Mythical is made for healers, and the Mystic one was made for DPS/Scout groups.)

The Mystic procs DBK attack for the group. The defilers procs an incomming damage reduction for the group and increases base heals. (Direct and wards.) The Mystic clicky heals and gives power to the group (Uber), the defiler gives raw health back to the group, and more than the Mystic version does.

Defilers have Pandemonium (Group heal and power regen, and damages mob encounters), and with TSO AA's it means they can give a tremendous amount of group heals with Pandemonium and Mythical clicky as well as power.

Tendrills of Horror drops a mobs DPS by a pretty good margin, but not as much as Lamenting Soul. But what if your tank has 12 mobs on him? You are NOT going to be casting Lamenting Soul on 12 mobs. Tendrils WILL however have them ALL slowed. There's another buff defilers put on the tank called Invective. This procs damage to the mobs and gives additional hate to the tank (Through damage). Mystics have no equivelant of that either.

I REALLY miss Torpor.. have I mentioned that?

Our little heal totem owns (I usually throw it back by the Mage group to heal choker users.)... I always liked the idea of the bear healer dude the Mystics got, but since he follows me into battle, he always died.

Mystics do really good DPS and can still kick ass on the heal parse...

With Soul Cannibalize I'm always doing damage, and always keeping my mana up there. Mana can be a problem with Mystics if you don't have the right gear and group. For defilers I can heal and even take the place of a Mana regen class in my group (Like a bard)

Cannibalize... I prefer this to soul ward any day of the week. If I get mana drained, Cannibalize and Soul Cannibalize and our Coercer can spread my mana pool to the group and we're good to go. I don't even have to stop casting, even when mana drained to Zero.

The only thing I really really miss about being a Mystic.. was Torpor..

I loved Torpor.

The two major things I think the defiler has that help for mt healing is the damage reduction proc on the mythical/fabled epic, and if the defiler is smart the shadows tree for defiler also gives you an additional 5% damage reduction on death ward that does not go away when the ward is used up it lasts for 5 second (great in a pinch) recastable every 30 sec at least on my defiler. If my MT ever gets to red for some reason in raid I cast Soul Ward and death ward together easily 20k plus ward since i have 15k hitpoints in raid then just bring my self and MT back to full with heals/heal procs.

You know the mystics in raid are maintaining Torpor on your MT, right? Does it matter who gets credit on the heal parse? The dude is still getting healed. =p

If you want to be an addict, play every single raid, and be crucial in every single raid, play a defiler.
If you want to be able to be extremely versatile, and be thrown into different situations every raid that you are on, but, they CAN raid without you, play a mystic.
IMO.

If you didn't see the humor in my post you fail sir. I'll try to make it more blatant next time.

EDIT: Rereading what I said, it actually was kinda hard to see that I wasn't being serious. Sorry for the confusion.

I never took shamans seriously because I played a cleric in EQ1. My healing power there so far outweighed a shaman that I didn't even bother looking at one until I was into raiding in EQ2 with my coercer. Shamans were the only ones who could keep my frail coercer alive through one shotting AOEs. I was so impressed that I rolled one.

Now... Mystic or Defiler... I rolled a mystic for the DPS, and I think I'll switch to a defiler for healing once I'm 80.

Thoughts?
