having the points in maelstrom isn't going to be very helpful unless you have the tso maxed version, and even then the recast is so long its ridiculous to put points into imo. putting points into forced cannibalize (or whatever its called now ) also is pointless if you are getting cannibalize as the endline. cutting down defile by 45 seconds so you can anally plunder any mob under 50% health is the way to go i'd say.

depending on what you are soloing, the debuff line can be useful. if you are soloing heroics its a HUGE help, but if you're soloing.. well.. solo mobs, most things aren't going to last long enough to really need the debuffs.

one thing you can tinker with is the strength line spec in the shaman aas. i only really soloed during the rok grindfest, but the dog made things a lot easier by doing some dps on his own, and the ward he procced meant i never had to do any warding on myself

Quick question about a neck item that drops in WoE.

I know that the LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Vyx Crest Locket is on the gear listing for the neck slot but what are your thoughts on this item from WoE.

LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Sapphire Gemmed Necklace

The shard version upgrade of this is adds +1 HC and 20 Heal Amount in addition to the +3 HC 45 HA. (I dont have a link).

The main reason I ask is that the Beneficial Alacrity IV is a nice addition with only losing 20 HA by switching from Locket.

I have both neck items but I am on the fence about upgrading the Necklace to the next version vs just using the Locket.

Any advice is appreciated.

Upgrade and use the woe item, if you're not close to the cap of casting speed. 5% will be a great help. There is a nice ear item in woe that gives 4 heal crit and 100 heal amount when upgraded, might consider getting that if you lack heal amount.

I assume this the ear you spoke of LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Soothing Earring, really nice and would be an upgrade. Hopefully it drops, havent seen it yet.

My HA is sitting at 705 atm but i would like it higher, maybe in the 850 range.

Thank again :-)

This is essentially a suggested build for a level 80 end game raiding defiler. Adjust it to your playstyle. Plenty of posts here (if you search ) with other successfully implemented suggested builds, including those for leveling up.

Any chance the gear post on this thread could be updated? Perhaps with 4 or 5 choices for each slot? I was looking for a good shaman gear thread. I didnt see anything at all on the mystic boards. Although I could have missed it. This one here is pretty good. Was looking to help some guildies out with gear choices. I dont really know to much about shamans, so if there were more choices in the different item slots, might be helpful to those who arent top end raiders.

Thanks

Edit: Or if there already is a thread with what I am looking for, could you direct me to it.
