scheduling wards?

A ward takes 2 seconds to cast and blocks 2k damage. At any given second, pretty much any raid mob is hitting for far more than 2k, so "scheduling" a ward would result in either a. it being wasted or b. tank being dead by the time it gets there - the point is that regardless of the current conditions, when your ward hits it's target in 2 seconds, it will land upon conditions that have already changed in every possible way.

you either ward or you don't, there is no scheduling.

I may have misunderstood what you mean, but you'd have to explain for me, maybe I'm just slow today.

Thats not always true, wards often stay up when the enchanter stuns or raincaller hits or a myriad of other reasons the named would't be doing enouph damage to break all wards. Its a perfect time to refresh debuffs or toss nukes.

I did mean scheduling wards. The limit of my shaman experience is grinding a defiler alt to 50 but what started to click is that wards get eaten through in the order they are cast. And you don't always want to refresh wards that haven't been touched yet.

Interesting, do other folks micromanage their debuffs like this as well?

I mean, i don't cast my debuffs at random with no concern to the fight, but I certainly don't time them to proccing stuns. Maybe I should.

LFG just has one gigantic red button that takes up 25% of his screen that says CAST in bold black letters. Its just a gigantic macro that trys to cast everything in his spellbook. Nukes, debuffs, pets, illusions, everything.

I do to an extent. My UI displays the time remaining on debuffs (and the name of the mob its on, too). I keep an eye on them and when they get down to 15 seconds or so remaining I work them back into my casting rotation. This has cut down a lot on my power consumption since I'm not just spamming a debuff that has another 30 seconds left on it.
