no offence, but you don't know what you're talking about. different people's memory and intuition work in different ways. while for a visually intuitive person it would be easier to spot the right icon at the 11th position of 6th row of similarly coloured buttons, for more conceptual people it's faster to remember that their regen buttons are on the 6th tool bar and in the middle.
Using my setup, I can (and have when I had some weird gfx glitch) fight complete blind and never look at my toolbar.
people are slow underperformers on raids because they suck at playing their class, not because they have 1 toolbar. that being said, i'm sure some people can benefit from re-arranging their UIs. Personally, my raid would be dead 5 times over if i had to look for a specific cure icon in that huge keyboard of buttons that Razieh has. Which is not to say that it's not the world's greatest thing for
him to use. There is no right or wrong when it comes to knowing what is fastest for your brain to access.
in regards to keyboard/mouse, I use keyboard to switch toolbars and to cast the first 5 or so spells, I use mouse to cast the right side of the tool bar. I have all "CAST IT NOW!" type spells such as cures and direct heals in those first 5 and then I have the "Cast calmly" stuff on the right side. With the exception of some combos which are faster to execute using mouse click on right and keyboard key on left in sequence (i.e. ritual on mouse side, heals and cannibalize on keyboard side or emergency ward on one side and follow-up heal on other..).
To be honest, I highly doubt that anyone else in the world would find my setup convenient. But I've been a defiler since pretty much launch and the toolbars have developed and ingrained themselves in my memory in an organic way.
