Default Clarification and Other Stuff

I would just like to get the general consensus on the order of importance on Heal Crit, +heal, and +speed stats/equipment. I know there are quite a few threads on this subject and I've read them all but most of the threads are a bit dated.

Would most people say that Heal mod > Heal Crit > Speed Stats?

I've played around with all different kinds of specs and gear. I'm currently sitting right at +1000 Heal Mod and 80% Heal Crit. Sadly, we do not have a raiding Fury any more. We use to so I started to focus on Heal Crit and Casting speed but now with the lose of the Fury I've been trying to bump up my Heal Mod again. Our MT Coercer is not spec'd for the +crit buff.

Currently, my guild is working it's way through TSO content. We have killed Trak, Byzola, Switchmaster and the dude after him and the first two named in YIS. So, no avatars as of yet. We are a new guild though and progressing quickly. This is just to give you an idea on where I am in the scheme of things. I pretty much only raid with a couple of groups here and there.

Lastly, I know heal parses don't show the whole picture of what healers do (I do an enormous amount of curing) but generally speaking by how much percentage wise should I be toping the parse by? I have a person in my guild that suggested I should be toping it by more then I am. So, I wanted to just get your opinion on that.

I know this topic is a bit over discussed and what not but I just wanted clarification so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

If it helps any, wards are less affected by heal crit as far as the percentage benefit goes. Straight heals are a x1.3 on crit, wards are a x1.15 iirc. So it's only slightly less important for shamans than other classes.

Also, we have slower casting tools that help keep people alive (mainly, wards), so +casting speed is more important for shamans than most other healer classes.

Both of these points are false. (the x1.3 ~ x1.15 bit is correct though)

o.O Granted I'm still new, so all my advice is to be taken with a grain of salt, but how so?

Heal crit, reuse, heal mod and base heals are all that matter to a defiler. I would say reuse and base heals are the most important as heal crit is on almost everything. Heal crit however is very important to a shaman. Casting speed is not very important because like heal crit it is on a lot of gear.

More importantly you get casting speed from your Dirge and Coercer.

I tend to agree with razieh heal crit it quite important at least to me with the mythical heal proc...ntm all the proc gear I have it very important that they crit because we are the slowest casting sub-class. Rayin to answer your other question I cant tell you where you should be in terms of how far above on the parse you should be I can tell you where I typically fall. As the mt Shaman I typical top the parse with around 1k of room but this also depends on the fight. Maestro for example a templar could potentially beat you because they have and arcane ward and "debuff" they can put on the mob that ward/reactives (dont remember which) when they do damage to anyone in the raid much like our Bane of Warding.

Really the person that told them that is not a healer would be my guess, and don't let them bother you about that. Did you kill the mob, people were cured, and the tank lived? You did just fine then.

BTW no one has said this, but your doing well on your +heal mod so don't stress that too much. Just focus on the other things for now. There is not a whole ton of gear with a decent +heal boost mod so your doing nice.

For improvements based on your gear, I would recommend getting a different symbol like the Claymore reward or the rolling pin from Outer Stronghold. Also do the collection quest in RE for the Totem. Another good upgrade would be to run Furzul and get that charm. Those upgrades should help you quite a bit.

Kurns charm + Nuroga charm.
Claymore + Selnok censer.
Re2 totem does not stack with the rolling pin, so do not bother getting it. :/

/smacks forehead Doh, Thanks Razieh! I don't have the Pin so I forgot about that conflict. I use the claymore/totem currently.
