Default Ancient Pedigree

Is it really worth it? Seems pretty meh, a point better spent in buffing atrophy.

Opinions and flames welcome.

I'm no expert and only have an alt defiler so just an opinion, but imo we're there to heal.. so.. dmg stuff is pretty pointless. Think the pet dies pretty quickly but doubt 25% hp will reduce that.. so it's only dps purpose I'd say. But again, just my opinion.

For a STR specced defiler the additional HP, and attack is beneficial.

Remember his attacks are what procs the group wards and the AE immunity. Your dog gets AE immunity in the STR line, but not damage shield immunity so the additional HP is helpful. You receive a better gain from that one point in AP than you would with one point in the debuff.

I think it was worth the point. To be honest, the dog survives just fine in the majority of zones I frequent. The only TSO zone that gives me fits is Palace of Ferzhul (the constant melee AoE's tend to work him over pretty well there). I haven't found a raid zone where he is detrimental to use. He also has quite a few more hit points now, so that 25% bonus does add a nice chunk. The extra attack is just free DPS, since he's going to be in there meleeing for the ward/avoidance proc anyway.

If you don't have the STR line filled out, I would agree this AA wouldn't be optimal to have, though.

QFE, we are capped on debuffs already. the rest of our spells are worthless and the only options we have to improve healing are this.

Well tbh, my dog doesn't die that often and I don't have Ancient Pedigree. You spend a point for his little attack that does an extra 50 dps. Oh and now ur pet can see what it feels like to go oom! How nice. And if you're that concerned about your dog proccing aoe immunity and his little 500hp ward then spec litany, cast the dog ability, which will increase his hit chance more than that stupid aa ability except you'll have to duck out of your heal stance and let the dirges and swashes heal for you since they don't have to worry about ae blockers anymore.

Did you really just suggest dropping the heal stance? Even in sarcasm?

You can not be this horrible. Fact is point for point when it gets down to it there is NOTHING else in your shadows tree that will improve your healing.
