I was joking...hence the " :P " face...and that is a valid point (so long as you know how the spell works)

I think you are mixxing up your stats. Base heal mod is usually given as a percent. It affects teh base amount of the heal before crits and other modifiers. IE if a heal does 2k normally and you have 25% base heal mod, the heal now casts for 2.5k. This is different from heal mod. Heal mod is just an addon to your heal amount. This is usually given as a +heal number. So if your heal does 2k normally and you have 200 heal mod, it now heals for 2.2k. The heal mod cap is 1/2 the base heal amount. Lets look at the case of the 2k heal. Normally the heal mod cap on this would be 1k, but if you have 25% base heal mod the spell casts for 2.5k. 1/2 of 2.5k is 1,250. That would be your new heal mod cap with the base mod included. You could also be seeing your wards crit. For wards we crit at 15% of the base amount (maybe heal mod is included here too but im not sure, I am thinking heal mod comes after crits tho). So if you heal for 2k and crit your heal actually heals for 2.3k. Heal crit bonus and the healing stance from TSO aa's can increase your crit percentage as well.
