I'm getting sick of clerics (or even wardens) who think they should get Coercive Healing over a shaman. Their argument is always "well I'm a better healer so I should get it".

I play a coercer too and I've heard this far too many times. What I tell them is it has nothing to do with who plays better (although if I'm in a pug and the shammie really sucks balls then maybe I'll reconsider). I tell them that shaman benefit the most from CH because we have the most efficient heals of all 3 healer types in addition to the slowest-casting heals. I think they are just too concerned with the heal parse.

So am I correct in saying this? Isn't it always shaman>cleric>druid for CH (or TC)?

Yes Pouncer you are correct in thinking that based solely on the numbers for TC and CH it is far better to have on a Shaman. Not only does the buff increase a shamans healing greater then the other 2 priest types, but also based on the way heals "tick" it is better for shaman to have. Ward(Prevention of damage occurring)>Reactive(Just that. Procs reactively)> Direct heal(After damage has already occurred)

CH
Reactives: Increases trigger count by 1 and heal amount by 15 percent
Regeneration: Increases heal amount by 15%
Wards: Increases ward amount by 15%
Improves casting speed of benefical spells by 15%
Improves reuse speed of benefical spells by 10%

TC
Improves recovery speed of spells by 40%
Improves reuse speed of spells by 10%
Improves casting speed of spells by 20%

Although a Cleric can speed their spells up with AA, Shamans and Clerics have the same base casting times (2 seconds for single and 5 seconds for group). Obviously CH on a Shaman is better because the +Base will give the group more health.

Why say something with conviction, but then sometimes succumb to contradictory pressure when you are on the Coercer? Or do you believe that it has nothing to do with skill only when you just happen to be the Shaman? When did we stop teaching the Golden Rule, Tallyth?!

If this is their reason you have much bigger issues than who should get what buff. Fix that.

Nah I never "give in to pressure" on my coercer. Like I said if the shaman sucks really bad then I'll consider giving it to someone else, but in the end it's my decision and not because some butthurt Templar wants to do better on the heal parse.

All this being said I can count on one hand how often I've decided it was better to give to a non-shammy. I do a lot of PUGs but nowadays most groups are single healers anyway unless I'm doing a sympathy group for a friend or something. I'm just saying my mind isn't closed to the idea.

I may not be the best defiler but I'm good enough to benefit more from CH than any other non-shaman that happens to be in my group. I've just been hearing this a lot lately, on both my shaman and my coercer, from other healers thinking they should get the buff. Just wondering if I missed a memo or something.

I don't care if it's the best god damned warden worldwide, if the shaman is at least beyond mediocre he's getting the buff, it benefits the group/raid more.
