To maximize your dps as a defiler how do you do it? do you prefer more casting proc based weapons like staff of light or do you go for more melee weapons like brimstone hammer.

Do you like whereing more proc gear or str ect... acrylia rings?

Everyone has their own style how do you do it?

No Zoin :P not acctually trying to start conversation beacuse this section seems to be fairly dead atm!!! I go for a melee weapon with some melee proc/mods with alot of spell casting gear and as far as weapon look for a 3-3.5 delay weapon. with the haste I get in the MT group that throws me around 2.8 seconds -3.1 seconds of acctuall delay and works really well with my spell casting.

I experimented a bit with Ritualistic Aggression.. 8 points into it seemed to up my DPS quite a bit, about ~200 or so. I respecced out of it tho. I usually just throw on as much int /proc gear as I can when I'm trying to DPS.. haven't gotten a hold of a good weapon to play with.

i have Wis3 and i use INT, + spell dmg gear and what little proc gear i got (fitz and hq belt).

If i had a better melee weapon than my serp spear, i would probably do more melee. Ive experimented with max crits and the weapons i have, and i got crap results, despire testing with over 500 str. so i specced out of that. this was quite a while.

i left my guild recently, so i doubt i will be raiding more, so i think i will stick with this spec for the little soloing or whatever ill be doing...

I am a firm believer that any respectable dps can only be achieved through our spells. I've tried many combinations of weapons and gear and group set ups and nothing has compared to loading up on hostile spell proc items and just casting like mad.
