Re: Soul ward
When I got SW I was very disappointed. I died often and used it incorrectly. I found it pointless because a dead defiler was a waste of raid real estate.
Now I have learned. i have died to soul ward once in the past 3 months, but saved the raid many times with this emergency. Its like clearing trash in EH and they pull 3 groups to keep you awake... SW I am awake!!! Or if a mt healer goes down , it gives you time to get them back and running.
All of the raid healers know I use it in emergencies, though its a necro who usually worries about healing me up. I make sure I dont use it when I will be aed or get adds. If I use it on the pull I get jester cap for a long fight if its available.
Although I use macros I wouldnt macro this one with other spells because it depends on the situation what spell I would cast next, though I agree with Holler that most times its group ward/heal.

Re: Soul ward
I rarely use Soul Ward and don't really care about it, but as someone else said, the path to it is decent, and the one point it costs isn't taking away from any other truly useful aa, so what the heck.
Actually, I think I mostly use it on EH trash (brownie groups) when half the raid is asleep from the excitement that simply is EH.

Re: Soul ward
Gotta love EH napping ... I mean clearing trash ... what me fall asleep in EH ... never .... zzzzzzz ... um what ... coffee ... need lots of coffee.
I used soul ward for awhile ... other MT healers knew what to do so I didn't die too often. My biggest problem with it was its really for emergencies only ... very situational. I just felt that my points were better spent elsewhere ... cannabalize and curseweaving ftw. Like Raz has stated before its always a matter of preference and playstyle. That being said ... I prefer abilities you use often not every once in awhile.

Re: Soul ward
I use Soul Ward when the shit hits the fan. I tried using it on prepulls to help get things stabilized at the beginning, but then it wasn't there for when debuffs drop mid fight and the tank takes spike damage while people get them back on.

Stfu mystic. On that note, in any fight that you need to use soul ward pre-pull, I find that it's usually back up if I need it...if not I've still got three other emergency spells I can use.

I don't like to preward with SW cause it gives you the agro and sometimes the MT can't grab it back you die and a dead defiler is useless.
Best senario is to use SW when you can't keep MT up do to adds. Adds die and preasuer is relleived. OR MT goes down and secondary tank gets Agro but not all healers have switched to secondary Pop SW to hold him up till they get on target.
I don't use it all that often cause the ppl I raid with are very good

Your tank sucks if he can't keep aggro off you - often times on hard fights I'll stack soul ward, single, and group ward.

I am a bit more polite than Lamp is, but he is correct. I have used SW in several situations and did not have an agro issue that I can remember.
On the other notes that have been mentioned here, more and more I am believeing Canni and the Curesweave line is a more practicle use of our AA's, but I am with holding until I have more information.

Re: Soul ward
I have sould ward, but may use it once a week, if that. I just like the increase to shroud and reduced time on VoA and what not in the line. Been thinking about going from Soul Ward to the curseweaving line though.
