It's only "wrong" in the sense that you're missing the point of a MMORPG. The game's designed to have MANY players ingame at one time, so to use your own characters in such a way only means that you're not falling upon the tasks of your fellow players to then enrich the game world. It's not against any rules, but still distasteful in practice.
