We saw Jeff Dunham live when he came here to San Diego several weeks ago. He did most of the material from the new Comedy Central special and it was a blast. However, the funniest part of the live show was the very end.
I'm not a huge Jeff Dunham fan, so forgive me if I get any part of this wrong. But apparently he had some redneck doll from an old routine that he hadn't used in awhile, but it was a big fan favorite. For his encore, he told everyone he was going to bring him out and do some of his old jokes. He tells everyone in the audience that its been so long, that he has to look at some notes to remember all the jokes and pulls out this little piece of paper.
Everyone thought this was pretty funny, and as he starts doing his routine, he gets to the punchline of a joke, glances down at his paper for a reminder, and half of the audience shouts the punchline out before he has a chance to say it. He just started laughing and had a hard time continuing. So he starts telling his second joke, gets to the punch line, looks down at his notes, and the audience shouts the punch line out again. At this point Jeff is having a hard time keeping it together and told the audience he never realized how popular this puppet was. So for the next 5-10 minutes, he goes through his routine with this redneck puppet, and at the end of every joke the audience beats him to the punchline.
The fact that all this was unscripted, and completely caught Jeff by surprise easily made this the best part of his show.
P.S. I KILL YOU!
