Nothing has changed. What changed is most likely that you were making a recipe that does not require your primary class skills.
Your primary class skills scaled up as you levelled up, and if you're a high level crafter now, then yes, you have real nice buffs and it's very easy to craft.
However, using another class's skills you have only the level 1 buffs and crafting is NOT as insanely easy as everyone who was at level 70 when they switched over to the new arts seems to think. Remember, it took you 60 levels to earn those nice buffs you have in your primary class ... and that was 60 levels of a much harder experience in crafting.
So now when you make the Frostfell recipes for other class skills, you're seeing the newbie crafter experience. See ... it's not really easy mode, easy mode is earned.
But hey! At least you HAVE durability skills in those now -- I remember the Frostfell recipes last year when we didn't have +durability for the recipes outside our archetype, and it was not necessarily even possible to get pristines without some lucky love from the RNG.
