I'd be offended if I bothered to lie. Having worked in Retail Management, I can honestly tell you that credit card fraud is a very serious issue for anyone who takes cards as a form of payment. I'm glad that they are tightening the controls and making it harder and harder on the folks who have tried this.
I may be biased, but I don't like scammers. Nor do I lie.

You would be surprised how changes to one part of a system can affect others. Exchange auctions interact with the same system as your account system, which is relied upon to draw email information out for the sending, etc. Javascript, would be more for the web team to answer (so I can't give info on that as I lack anything new to share).
