A few tidbits to remember....
- When you get a message identified as spam, with the [view] marker on it, we get a notice too. That means the system is working, and they are on the path to trouble.
- If you see a level 1 sending spam tells, they have a normal account not a trial. No two ways about it.
- CS does not always instantly ban identified spammers, as they can 'watch' the person in action and use that known point to identify a whole bunch of others doing the wrong things. If you /report and /petition them -- don't expect instant results; CS is being smart and finding more folks than just the one.
Yes, that could be annoying, but it's an effective action. By allowing one to live a little while after detection, they can find many others and then hit them all in a sweep. It works surprisingly well.
Also remember that you can toggle your ability to see tells that are identified as spam, so you don't have to see that if you don't want to.
Spammers are always going to find new ways to be annoying, and SOE is always going to do what we can to stop them. No system is perfect though, let's remember that even when we are angry and want to scream in the forums.
