The whole idea of this spell is to make you think about the curse and whether to leave it up or not. It's not meant to be something that really has to be removed in all cases. Sure it might suck for a dps class to be debuffed or something but its crucial to cure if it gets on the tanks. This is why it gets the longer reuse because the idea of curses is different from that of detrimental effects that you are used to. I'm sure once you see them in action more it will become apparent though.
