did they take a trip to the grey ? They must of saw something else in the runes the invoked them to literally Travel there.. Although the Shissar were able to construct the calendar using planar runes, even they were unclear of the true meanings of what the runes represented, nor exactly what days they would occur. They only knew what order they would occur in. They might have known the Rune of Sunder represented something being destroyed, but they would not have known what or when exactly. Those that fled to Luclin could have supposed the Rending on Norrath was the event, and that they chose wisely to flee to Luclin in ages past.
No one on Norrath knows exactly what all of the calendar means, but some have spent a great long while studying it. Mayong, Trakanon, and Elizerain come to mind, but there are others as well...
