Perhaps this isn't a particularly productive question to ask for the issue at hand, but I can't help but wonder why it is we're still at the stage of "planning" on looking into this.
Ok, you're taking my post too literally. We're constantly looking at ways to improve server-side performance. The memory-leak issue that was most apparent in Veeshan's Peak was fixed. We've addressed the stuttering issue in the client for people with the 8600 video cards. Changes were made to memory usage to fix some of the crashing problems in Vista. We've added quite a bit profiling to the servers to determine if specific spells were taking too long and making changes to optimize those. I'm sorry we can't fix every problem in just one week, but we're working on the issues as fast as we can. We can't just stop creating new content either.
Backer, if you're lag is so bad that the game is unplayable, there must be something else going on. I had an issue with my Linksys router that was causing terrible lag for me over a year ago. I replaced it with a new router and it solved my issues. I'm not suggesting that it's completely on your side, but if the game is truly unplayable, it sounds like you're having worse issues than the server lag I experience. Have you tried removing your router and just connecting directly through your modem?
