She hasn't designed any raid drops, and instead designed crafted gear that shouldn't be as good as it is. Sure she loves the game, but she's a fucking anti-raider bitch who is a total retard about overall game mechanics.

tbh, I don't blame Domino. I blame whoever is supposed to be looking at the overall picture to make sure everything works together. But really, I don't think any of the stuff she has created is out of line with anything current tier. Old tier crafted stuff is op for those level ranges though.

MC gear is better than 90% of all instanced, Chardok, and Sebilis gear. That is a huge problem.

Dom's ability as the tradeskill dev imo is without question. She has gotten rid of the clutter and confusion in tradeskilling while making a terriblly boring system with an easier interface so at least its easier to bot.

My problem with her stems from her apparent desire to meddle with things that just arent her fucking job. Especially when she obviously has very little idea of gameplay in general. I mean she posted about HoF like it was a normal reference point for current gameplay. That came out....2.5 years ago? Then with complete ignorance lobbies for things that effect general gameplay such as suggesting what items should be for tradeskilling/quests. Furthermore, as her previous posts before she was a dev, she is a completely undynamic and forward thinking person. She cares only for what she finds fun in the game and pretty much disregards everything else.

That is definitely not a true statement when it comes to mage gear. Even if I never raided I would still not be wearing a single piece of MC gear as a Mage with the exception of possibly a secondary, and that is simply because there is a giant gaping hole in itemization for secondaries as they simply don't exist.

Lol your domino hate has clouded your memory.

Frizznik had 3 years to deisgn and implement the basic tradeskill classes for eq2.

In which upon release was unbalanced, broken and buggy. Reaction arts where all over the place. Classes had many useless items needed to made and sold at a loss to level or compleletly buged out recipes. A overcomplicated system with overlapping interdependacies that had some classes running to every other class for ingredients and some classes basically selfsufficient. Some classes had to many recipes and some had basically none at all. He did such a great job that every single thing he created has been completly redone since he left.

and if your issue was overpowered tradeskill items then by far frizznik made tradeskill gear the most overpowered gear upon release. Considering full sets of mastercrafted gear was the preferred gear in eq2 upon release (until it was nerfed after frizznik left).

Once again gaige you are wrong. While domino may not be the most innovative tradeskill dev. She does take the time to balance tradeskill classes and items. Bottom line at every live update she provides direct results and continues to provide feedback along the way on the forums. There are to few eq2 devs that have ever done that.

Yeah, I probably should have added scouts to that post.

agreeing with most of what you said except for this portion. Mastercrafted gear in t5 was very rare...nodes had a very very low drop rate and adjusting prices to these times just 1 peice of ebon would sell for close to 50plat. I remember most of the ebon our tanks got were from raid drops and not from harvestables...same with their adept 3 spells. I remember having to pay dkp just so i could get adept 3's.

im thinking along the lines of ebon b/c that was really all that was that important, but even stuff like leathers were going for 8 plat at an adjusted rate.

Its just not the same as it was back then.
