Whats even more scary is that the Devs do not realize this themselves. Even when Xalmat confronted FyreFlyte directly on the problem , the response is unbelievable. How can the Devs not understand the basic concept of this? It is not Rocket Science.
What exactly did I say that was unbelievable?
Well I do not want to speak for him but I assume he is alluding to this:
Well it was a nice attempt:
Question number twenty-two: ( Xalmat) Are Summoners ever going to have their gear affect their pets? We have all of this wonderful +spell damage and +crit gear available to us, but it doesn't help our pet any. And since our pets are who we are, it's like we're only getting half the benefit.

I've been adding summoner gear with pet-specific effects in small doses (some of which you may have seen in Shard of Hate and a couple of Kunark dungeons). More of these types of effects will be appearing on future equipment.
I think he feels if this is the only attention we are getting, then the point is being missed of what is actual wrong with summoners in T8 and "keeping up wiht the joneses"
When you have non DPS melee classes getting 300% increases in DPS and necros and conj's getting about a 25% if we are lucky increase in DPS with our mythicals....there is more to it than simply adding in some pet proc'ing raid gear that is very rare.
Many valid points have been brought up on this thread about what is causing these issues in T8 raiding, and that comment just felt like a brush off answer at best.
You're applying more meaning to that question than was stated. I was asked pretty specifically if you'd be seeing more gear that benefited your pets. I said yes you would. Keep in mind that during interviews we often don't have a lot of time to answer or elaborate, and as I have been quoted out of context more times than I care to count, I tend to try to word things as carefully as possible =) Because of that, I'm unlikely to be as verbose during interviews. Again, I'm just the items designer, so it would be presumptuous of me to comment on more than what I am working on, so that was what I answered with. I'm sorry that it was less info than you guys were looking for, but I can attempt to discuss it in a little more detail here on the forums =)
