Can someone recommend a class that (at low levels) is easy to play and exciting?
I played an enchanter in EQ1 and it was hard. Of course I started at release, so the whole game was hard, IMO, but it took nearly a year to get to level 20 back then. And I was just hitting buttons hoping I was doing the right thing.
So I started EQ2 as a bard, then chose dirge as my class because I was evil. I think now you can make good dirges...? Either way, I have not played another character since release for more than a few levels, because I love dirge sooooooo much. I can DPS. I can stand back and be a buffer and throw some distance damage or be right up there stabbing and backstabbing. I can solo, and groups and raids always want me. At higher levels I can resurrect and I can heal. I can invis through tough areas and I have awesome run speed. In my eyes, I can do it all!
Plus the button mashing was much easier for me to learn as a dirge. I use HO's in every fight, whether solo group, or raid, and I actually understand the significance of the order I do things in. Of course trouby is less evil, but I kinda like being evil. >
Good luck to you and the wife, and I hope she enjoys whatever you guys pick!
