I am locking this thread for two reasons.
- Euro vs US bashing is stupid. We should love each other. Great continents, great people, great food, great entertainment. Stop being mean to people who should be your friends.
- I have the actual answer: It's the red tape.
We do not hate our friends in Europe here at SOE -- but we are not in a position where making sure we are in compliance with the various international laws is easy and secure. The last thing we would want is to have a contest that promises something, only to find out that we weren't aware of a law in another country that invalidates the contest and prevents us from delivering the goods.
As an individual I hope that there is a point in the future where the challenge is vanquished and our contests are open to more folks; but that's not today. I hope you can understand, even if you live in another nation and aren't exactly thrilled by the truth.
