One thing about ethics tho , and NBG in particular , what if i have my RA running to make my group ward and he's at 95% , i group with some ppl and the thing drops .. what do i do .. do i press need ? casue really i need the thing , or press greed , and wait for my RA to make it , and when i press need , will the RE lose all progress made and will my days and days of pregress be for nothing?

One of the tradeoffs of using a Research Assistant is that you have to wait a while before you get that upgrade. So if you are out adventuring and have a spell/ca drops you'll have to make the call if you want it right now or you want to give up some of that time you've had the researcher working.

As it is implemented now, if you change what the researcher is working on you'll be refuded one third of the days he's been working on the spell. So if he's been working 10 days on a spell you'll get 3 days back (it's rounded down) to apply to the next thing you want to research whether he's part way through the research or all finished.
