When you say you "fixed the problem with oversized packets" what did you fix them to? If it was 1500 then we still have a problem if it is over 1490.

I'm looking at my capture files and all of the packet sizes seem to be very small. 95% of the packets are between 80 and 159 bytes. There were only 20 packets in my entire capture with packet sizes > 1200 bytes. These seem to be TCP handshaking packets and they were all 1300 bytes.
So to answer your question, the packet sizes seem to be well under the PPPoE MTU.
