I guess testing a change isn't a top priority.Yes, the change was made to fix the exploit. And it was indeed tested but the performance issue only became noticeable when 20+ people were fighting with those earrings on.
If our QA department was forced to check every single change with large groups like this, it would take a whole lot longer to get anything done for the rare occasion that something like this slips through. The only reason it didn't go to test server first was because it was an exploit fix.
So cut us some slack.
Wait, you could exploit the MMB earring to be level 89? I wonder how many Munzok kills were legit...
What was the exploit?
Lets play some League of Legends
since it's lvl 89 i figure it involved duping the 3 lvl effect. probly buging it out with macros or something.
Call of veteran with earing on take earing off when teleporting then put earing back on sounds about right
Hmm. Oddly enough I know something about how this was done. If I understand it correctly, it had nothing to do with Call of the Veteran. While I know what causes it, I don't know how you get yourself into a position to do it. (I didn't ask because I didn't care) The same exploit also made you level 86 as a stepping stone to 89. Dying as 89 would lower you back to 86.
I had never heard of the exploit until the day before the patch that apparently "fixed" it and caused the unbearable lag.
So are some of the kills not legit? /ponder
Is this bug a new thing? Seems like something Crushbone would do! The question is did Mistmoore and Blackburrow!
*shrug* I'm hoping that it was a rare exploit. Even knowing what you needed to accomplish it, I could not do it myself because I wouldn't be able to get the same set up.
