People quit EQ2 for other games all the time, its just that those games normally lack staying power and EQ2's draw for many players is the community.

Isn't that why you've "quit" EQ2 9x this year already and yet here you are?

its the familiarity of the game and the memories that keep players coming back.. and lets face it we all invested a shit load of time into our toons its hard to just leave that shit. EQ2 is like the cheers of MMOs doesnt do much but GD its nice to hear ur name called out when u walk in the door....

News flash the community here is not that special.

The fact is many of those games have lag and instability (hello conan, darkfall), craptastic itemization (conan, warhammer), Absolutely no end game content (conan and warhammer), piss poorclass balance (hi there conan, warhammer) and they lack the same features people continually bitch about in eq2 high end "contested" content.

So basically everything people bitch about in eq2 exsists in every other fucking MMO, except there is really no such thing as high end contested content in most MMo's.

Wrong. If the community wasn't that special we'd all be playing WoW.

It has a stronger/larger community, it has a much more polished game, and its much more raid centric and has a way better endgame.

EQ2's community is special, its also what keeps at least 50% of the high end raiders here.
