I not all that happy either with how the older players didn’t' get credit before AA’s was even in the game. I have a few characters that were created before KoS so I've always been behind in AA’s for them.
I do have 29 L&L done on my necro and not getting credit for them all because a percent of them were done before KoS AA’s lines were introduced in the game. This new achievements really punished the older players here for they’re not getting credit at all before KoS.

You should have received credit for all quests that are in your completed quest journal since they cannot be done again. The quest achievements have nothing to do with your AA XP.

I have to ask since the code to give credit for quest's completed before AA’s was introduced or a person was maxed on AA’s would be way to time consuming then how about doing it slowly?
Assuming it is possible to code how about being to check/track data in the players journal in alphabetical order and then code to the servers this way as well?

My example is lets say your characters name starts with the letter 'A', and based by how many players that have a name that start with the letter A can log in to have these credited to them one week and then letter B the next week all the way to letter Z . The letter your name starts with wouldn’t have to be one weekly, it can depend on how many players have the letter A to Z world wide. So some weeks, their can be more then one letter done for there may not be as many players for example take the letter ‘F’, ‘G’ and ‘H’ could be done one week for thier may be about same combined as thier may be for the letter 'A'. For the information is there but to have it coded to give credit was so vast considering the players data world wide then could it be possible to code to give credit alphabetically this way? As player I could wait a few days to even possibly few weeks for this to happen, then have nothing at all credited if you ask me. Anyways just idea if even possible.

Its not so much about the speed even though it would be pretty taxing on the server. Its more about how long it would take for the design team to identify all of those connections. Plus, the achievement system doesn't even support that kind of logic. I explained it in another thread, but I'll recap here again.

The achievement system works by saying "kill mob x". When you kill mob x you get credit for the kill. The achievement system doesnt support getting credit for killing a mob by doing a quest. This would be a decent amount of work to build these extra requirements into the system, not to mention it would take a long time to define all of those manually. Even if we spent another couple of months on this, there would still be those things out there that don't have an associated quest to "prove" that you've done it. So players would have the same argument about having to go back and do things again that they've already done. Also, can you imagine if we had to load your house and all of your house items when you logged in to check to see if there are any items in your house that prove you've done something? What if you placed an item in your guild hall or worse yet, someone else's house?
