Icon3 (Grimwell) Re:PvP Merge & Character Transfer FAQ

<span class="postbody">I grabbed as many questions as I could identify to answer. I'll make another pass at that tomorrow, but here is what we have for today to provide some clarity:

Q: How???; If someone wants to transfer where would they go, what would they do to start the process etc.;
A:
Visit the 'Character Services' page ( http://eq2players.station.sony.com/cs/index.vm ) and click on "Character Transfer Service" - during the free transfer phase, the cost is being set to zero. Other services offered will not be altered in price.

Q:
Would this mean, ruleset as in PVP and PVE, or you cannot transfer from PVE to PVE-RP (ie Nektulos to AB)?
A:
The "RP" designation on a server is not considered a 'ruleset' so you can transfer in and out of RP servers provided the other rulesets that apply match.

Q:
Will there be an option in the future to move a character from PVE to PVP (or visa versa)?
A: No. PvE and PvP character records are markedly different than each other. While every answer given about a MMO has a built in expiration date (you can never say never), this is very unlikely to ever happen.

Q:
You say re-place items into Vendor slots. From where ?? If your Vault is full and your Vendor slots are too.... where will all the stuff go ??
A:
They will be there in your house waiting for you. You just need to pick them up and put them back down to revalidate ownership.

Q:
Am I to understand that Station Access players will also benefit from this?; I have 8-9 chars on Europe and 10 on Nagafen?
A:
Station Access players will benefit from the cap being raised to 12 as well. This does mean that players could find themselves in a situation where they have more than 12 characters on the US server set after their European characters are merged into Venekor. If that happens to you, any characters above and beyond the 12th will no longer be visible and accessible to your account. You will still have the option of transferring character to another account you own for free if you wish to preserve them all.

Q:
Does this increase remain for those going from Venekor to Nagafen?
A: Only characters on Venekor, created before April 1st, will count toward the raised cap. If you have six characters on Nagafen, and end up with six more on Venekor, you will be fine because the six on Nagafen count toward your regular account limit, and the six on Venekor will be grandfathered under the exception cap.

Q: For example, will I receive my 8 characters on Venekor, be able to merge 4 of them to Naggy giving me 14 on Naggy and 4 on Venekor?
A:
No. Only the characters on Venekor qualify for the exception. If you move them to a new server, the code exception to account status will no longer apply.

Q:
Is the ruleset the same for transfering to Vox as it is for transfering to Bazaar ( no coin, no trade items only, everything is worth 2c)?;
A:
The rules for transferring to Vox are actually unchanged by this event. It has the standard rules for transfer to an Exchange server, with the added rule that only PvP characters can be brought in.

Q:
What happens when more than 2 characters from different servers have the same name?
A: The names will be appended to ensure that each becomes unique.

Q:
While I'm not doing it, I thought someone stated that you couldn't do account to account transfers during this period previously, was this changed (or am I misreading that?)
A: It was stated that this would not happen initially -- this was changed for the benefit of people who do have more than one account. You sill can't transfer to accounts you don't own.

Q:
What about within the family? I have two accounts, my hubby has one. One of the characters on my account should really go to him we just never did anything about it. Would we be able to take advantage of this offer?
A:
The transfer service attempts to validate ownership of both accounts by the same person. If moving between a husband and wife in the same family does not work, please contact CS when this starts to see if they can help.

Please note that these answers are subject to revision and dev clarification should I have confused the message in any way during it's delivery.
