(Aeralik) Re:Druids need a little help.
The hots are just one portion of the overall problem that we are looking into and it is most definitely not the solution. The solution is a mix of things. The new hot just helps to deal with the problem of essentially falling third in line with how damage is dealt with. Hitpoints are already added internally for when the balance pass goes live. Other things are being looked into like group curing of all ailments similar to what the inquisitor epic does now as well as significant cure line adjustments. Other things are being looked into as well such as undesirable abilities and making sure they are useful again.
Overall, its mostly pretty straightforward for the priests where we tackle many of the larger concerns. The biggest concern though is making sure each priest is desirable and I believe the changes accomplish that.

Lol. Yea, just make them group cure everything so the Inquisitor is obsolete next expansion.

Re: (Aeralik) Re:Druids need a little help.
I don't think clerics are EVER going to be obsolete. They are still more efficient healers than druids. As he said, hots are third in line to heal the tank. First wards, then reactives, then hots.

Re: (Aeralik) Re:Druids need a little help.
Group cure all is NOT the way to fix druids and yes it does take away from inquisitors, although inquisitors do still have some other neat tools. There has to be a way for druids to keep a group alive through any ae, if they don't do that then druids will remain at the bottom of the totem pole. Sure they might be slightly more desireable, but only as secondary/back up healers which is the first spot to be dropped once content is placed on farm.

Am I the only one that feels like Druids are going to wind up being an almagam of all the healer classes?

Re: (Aeralik) Re:Druids need a little help.
I think the best change would just be to change hots to work against being one shotted. Right now, if a player is at 100% health (10k) with a hot building and gets hit for 11k, the building hot does no good. The change would simply be to change this building hot to be treated almost like a death save where the hot was applied before death. As long as the building hot was more than 1k, the player would not die. That would make for some interesting gameplay, because it would cause druids to time their hots in advance to AOEs since the building hot would be more effective as time passes. It would make them much more desired.
And besides, there is no reason to increase curability if the SF encounters are moving away from being cure centric.

His statement at that point seems to have been directed at all priests. Would be really nice to know fully what he was talking about instead of these bits and pieces updates.

Re: (Aeralik) Re:Druids need a little help.
For raids I'd like to see the Warden get a short duration ward for each type of damage, like the elemental ward they got now, but short duration and a faster reuse. That way a Warden will be able to prevent getting oneshotted by AE's but he will have to time it right and use the right ward - 1 spell for each - nox/arcane/trauma/ele. Then with a skilled Warden, scouts would be able to stay in a take an AE instead of jousting out.
