I looked through a lot of the post on here but didn't see this.
Since he work on the new shaders started (basically around LU53) I have been unable to use complex shaders on my machine, everything pretty much blacks out. Setting shaders to -1 is the only way I can play the game now. Even updating to the latest Nvidia drivers didn't do a thing for it.
Problem with playing this way is that when night time starts rolling in I have no real lighting. Not to mention specular lighting does not work at this setting.
The game looks like crap at this setting after having run it with more of the bells and whistles turned on for a number of years. Its been a while now since its been like that, is it something thats being worked on or is that the way its going to stay?
I'm not the one working on this issue right now, but I'm looking into its status for you right now.
If you can give me your DxDiag data it will help us repro the issue. So far none of our machines have been able to reproduce the issue. We can build a box that is a lot like yours and that might help us figure it out.
Getting DxDiag:
1) Goto your Start button
2) Click on "run" or in the search bar type in "cmd" without the quotes and press enter and then enter again
3) If you clicked on "run" then type "cmd" without the quotes in the "open:" text box and press enter
4) Type "dxdiag" without the quotes and press enter
5) DirectX Diagnostic Tool should have opened at this point
6) Click on the "Save All Information" button at the bottom right hand corner of the window
7) Save the data to your desktop or somewhere you'll remember on your computer
8 ) You can close the diag window by clicking the "exit" button
9 ) Open the file you saved and send me the data inside it
