Not really. I played the game from launch up till Fallen Dynasty adventure pack, quit the game for 2 years and my account says i'm 5 1/2 years in.. I just lost out on the +90 day bonus for RoK and EoF... So no, looks like just not paying your account for a month won't affect it.
Actually it was never intended to give you credit during time that your account was cancelled. Unfortunately it was like this for a long time but it was fixed earlier this year. So going forward, veteran reward time is only counted while you are subscribed.
