Terribly sorry about this, but I've had a word with the broker and the writ-givers, and apparently, you sing in your sleep. It was annoying the fuel vendor, who is tone deaf.
... Actually, since crafting societies are instances, they work like housing -- if there is someone currently in the instance when you log back in, you'll reappear in the crafting instance (or house). However if the instance is empty, you can't log back into an instance that doesn't exist, so you log in outside.
That'll teach you to sleep under the forge ... I know it's warm, but have you considered the low priced inn rooms just around the corner?
