(DominoDev) What do you SOE employee's play?
Do you guys all play on test or do you have an in house server for development before it goes live?
I have some characters on test but spend more of my time on live servers. Of course, changes get tested on local and development servers first, as others have said.
What race / classes do you guys play?
I'm an altaholic so I've played lots! Recently I'm playing dirges a lot. I have three dirges on different servers (two ratongas, one fae). I also have an Erudite Wizard, and a halfling illusionist, and various others at various lower levels. If I don't particularly enjoy the class I tend to reroll or just abandon them around the 30s - fury, templar, berserker, conjuror, necromancer, and monk, for example. I tend to prefer less common races, so for example, I mostly avoid elves.
What levels are your main / alts?
I have 3 level 70s (dirge, wizard, illusionist) and a handful of others abandoned mostly in the 30s.
If you guys play on normal servers are you guilded?
Yes. The guild does not know what I do for a job.
Do you ever play when you get off work?
Less so nowdays -- after staring at EQ2 all day at work I find myself a little less enthusiastic to sit down and stare at it some more -- but I still do play several evenings in the week, and a bit on weekends.
What's your preference, solo, group or raids?
I generally prefer soloing since I like the flexibility to wander off AFK and get some food, play with the cat, whatever. However, I do all three.
Do you often stop during gameplay and jot something down to fix the next day?
Sometimes! Though as tradeskill dev, I'm less likely to find a tradeskill issue if I'm out adventuring.
What are your favorite zones?
I like Everfrost just because it's so pretty, Drafling Tower because it's so unique, Nektropos Castle and Solusek's Eye for the same reason, and Bastion of Flames because that little ring event is so much fun, particularly if you're not so overpowered that you trivialize it. The first time I went in there we were just a wizard, monk, and templar, and it was so close that the templar lost his cool and started nuking the heck out of things in a panic. Still one of my most fun memories of the game.
