Default Stats, AA's?

I recently rolled a dirge and I'm hoping someone could help me =(

1. What are the main stats a dirge should raise if they are duoing with a brig/assassin?

2. When there is the choice every 8 levels to raise a stat by 4 points, which should it be?

3. What are good starting AA's to raise?

4. How often can you redo racials/masteries etc?

5. Last one, if anyone cares to answer it. What would be the best mastery to take at 14 and 24?

Really appreciate any replies I get, thank you.

Default Re: Stats, AA's?

str = how much CoB procs for (believe every 4 points is 1 point of disease damage)

agi = power

int = how hard we nuke

AA lines :
don't kill the messanger in KoS
and probably the double attack AA line
EoF: Luck of the Dirge and whatever else you want to try, most people go degredation.

As for the rest of your questions... no idea

Hmm, thank you.

Anyone else? Need some like, specific info on all of this. I understand what each stat does, but am confused if the dirge wants to be meleeing more or using nukes more. Which would tell me to raise str or int higher.

Also don't understand the AA lines at all. At least, if I should be putting points into the first tree or the second tree.

STR -> INT -> STA/AGI -----------> WIS (personal opinion)
We do alot more damage with STR based abilities than we do with INT based ones. That said, then INT is a close second, because not only does it add to the damage of our nukes, it also increases out power pool.
STA and AGI is a bit of a toss up as the third stat. AGI does increase your power pool with a considerable amount, but you will get power from INT as well. STA means more hitpoints and there is no disputing the fact that having more hitpoints is good.
WIS means resistances. One point means three in each resistance. I will however be so bold and claim (can not back this up in any way) that for each point of a given resistance you will take one less damage from a spell (on average that is). So adding one point of wisdom you will take three less damage when a spell is cast on you. I'd say that its better to just add one point of STA instead, cause that will give you (cant recall the exact number) 3-4 hitpoints. Hitpoints is also good when you take regular melee damage... resistances are not.

As for the stat raising abilities... same as above applies.

AA wise. Unless you have already gathered enough AAs to fill out a tree (get end ability) in one of the Bard trees, then I'd probably start going down the INT tree. You will get a skill which increases your melee skills as the first one and one which increases the effect of your +DPS song later on. This will help out the Brig you group with as well as you.
Once you gather enough AAs, then you can choose to respec and grab Dont Kill the Messenger (Wisdom line) for the crits.. or you can stay INT and grab the end ability there (HO's is quite a big chunk of the DPS in a duo).
If you are or plan on using sword and board, then skip what I just said about AAs and go down the STA line instead. The extra stun is nice in a duo, cause it means whoever of you are tanking will take less damage. And finally you will be able to add 10% double attack ontop of everything.

I am not certain what you mean by redoing racials/masteries.

What Master 2's to take at 14 and 24. I'd probably pick Piercing Shriek at level 14, since this is where I think you get the most bang for the buck. At 24 I'd pick Clara's Chaotic Cacophony, because this debuff will also help the Brig do more damage... but.. level 24 master 2s are a bit iffy to pick anyway i think.
Ofcourse if you come upon the Master 1 version of any of the picks, then you should ofcourse pick something else instead.

So basically keep Str and Int even?

I guess i'm still worried about the stat choices she gets. If she should be more melee oriented or nuke. Hmm...

Dirge DPS will under normal circumstances consist of about ~1/3 auto-attack, ~1/3 nukes and ~1/3 CAs ... which means that ~2/3 of your actual damage will be from melee based attacks. Ofcourse this number is not 100% accurate and vary from playstyle to playstyle.

Default Re: Stats, AA's?

I agree with the previous posters about the importance of the stats.

If ever I am given a choice of which stat to raise, I choose INT. The reasoning for that is that INT is much harder to raise than our other stats, without sacrificing too much.

Most items with INT have STA/WIS to go with it. It is rare to find an INT item with AGI/STR on it. If I do see one, I jump on it. Due to the fact I don't like WIS/STA much, my INT has been quite neglected

STR is better than INT, but I suggest choosing INT when you can, as you will get a decent STR without trying too hard.
