Sword and board DPS

Curious if there are any raiding dirges who are permanantly sword and board users with the STA line 4-4-8-8 and find they dont lose much if any dps over dual wield?

What does the 1h has to be like for this to work for them in terms of DR and then do they aim for the same long delay and wide range as with DW wields for crits? Any examples of weapons or shields that will allow you to do decent DPS still would be good.

I don't think any raiding Dirge uses a shield. It's not even close.

can do pretty well with this setup with a clearcutter machete or axe of natural order.... though the dps from dual wielding can be a bit better. it just depends what you can get your hands on.

It's really a crapshoot. If I had 455 slashing with my clearcutter, I'd outdps my two piercers easily, but as it is, I either need to raid content from 1.5 expansions ago or drop a bunch of good stat gear for crap that just has +slash.

I might do less most of the time, but you try telling your rogues that you refuse to use a weapon they'd kill their grandmothers for

Are you using rhythm blade and getting swindler's luck as much as you possibly can?

Can't get Rhythm blade with 4/4/8/8 and 4/4/6/8/2

And if I did, I'd either lose like 24% double attack or my crit.

What 2 piercing weapons? I can't imagine it would out dps Soulfire + GDoH.

TBH, +skills > stats. Doesn't matter what your strength is if you can't hit the mob.

Like I said, a crapshoot. I've had near 1800 parses in FTH, and then have a 1k parse the very next with an almost 20% discrepancy in hit percentage. Being in the mt group, I often get 25 boon+25 guardian + 17 or whatever the templar gives +23 swindlers so it's not too terrible regardless.
